Family farm raising grass-fed, grass-finished bison
Our bison graze on native grasses during the summer...
...and during the winter they feed on grass-hay grown locally. They never consume grain, corn, or range cubes of any type.
Bison are extremely well-suited for our northern MN climate...their fur is so insulating that falling snow accumulates on them and doesn't melt, they must 'shake' to get it off!
In the spring, they slough off their thick winter coat in order to stay cooler during the summer months. Spring is also our favorite time of year...calving!
Typically once a year we round them up for a health check...which includes weighing, ear tagging, vitamins, and de-worming. And maybe a scratch on the nose!
Bison love to “dirt up” to keep flies at bay!
...so please feel free to call us. We NEVER pressure you to purchase from us!“
Please call us to schedule any type of visit to our farm...we want to be here when you arrive!
